Okay, this is a long shot, but I know we've got all kinds of magic and tech here that I don't know all the capabilities of, so here goes:

Does anybody have, or know of, something that can like...turn memories into photographs? We never really had cameras around when I was little and I guess I'm just. Being maudlin about a few things.

[She gives him a little time to himself, after the flood, but there are some things she needs to say. She's not dressed for effect this time, just in jeans and a soft, light sweater despite the summery barge atmosphere.]

[She's used to coming in and out of Lua's room whenever she feels like it. She knows it's early, but there's a comfort to being here, for her, simply existing in a space she shares with someone she trusts. She didn't expect to to see Jesse making breakfast, but she puts it together pretty quickly. She leans against the little table, arms crossed, not smiling even though she wants to, a little.]

They tend to show up incorporated into the world of the next port, as though they've always been there, as though for them it's a breach. The barge scoops them back up and puts them in their right minds when it leaves.

Well, it's a gamble.

But generally, yes. I like breaches, more often than not. You can learn a heck of a lot, being someone else for a little while.

One time I turned into a mermaid. I didn't learn much, but it was ridiculously fun.

See, this is where the Americana breach comes in handy, because I remember what Disney is, but I'm still not sure what it has to do with mermaids.

Someone with more of an inner child is going to have to help you discover Disney movies. There's one about a mermaid, which is all I can tell you.

I remember liking Alice and Wonderland, I think. I guess I always did like the books, though.
